HIS MENTAL DECLINE
Unstable and Malicious
I’m witnessing the rapid mental decline of the President of the United States, on display almost daily.
His increasingly delusional behavior is causing widespread anxiety and distress across the country. His inability to maintain focus for more than a few moments is now painfully obvious, and his grasp on reality is slipping right before our eyes.
Unfortunately, what remains disturbingly clear, to both him and me, is his obsession with enacting his darkest inner fantasies: the targeting and dehumanization of people of color.
With the passage of the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” Trump has secured funding for his nightmarish vision, including the expansion of his legalized terrorist group, ICE, an agency that now functions more like a paramilitary force than an immigration bureau.
Arbitrary detentions, brutal beatings, and the use of cages within concentration camps to imprison men, women, and children have become terrifyingly normalized.
And while Trump may no longer possess the mental acuity to mask his intentions, his long-time advisor Stephen Miller appears to be firmly at the helm.
If Trump dreams it, Miller drafts the blueprint and sees it through.
In my opinion, Trump is now so cognitively damaged that Miller holds free rein to unleash his own, even more horrifying visions.
(Dear Readers, more on Stephen Miller in a later blog.)
I can’t possibly be the only citizen witnessing Trump’s mental decline.
And I know I’m not the only one who’s angry and repulsed by ICE.
I’m not capable of staying quiet.
I can’t force myself to look away.
I’m calling and writing my congressman.
I’m writing to my senators.
And I’ll keep doing it—because silence is complicity.
